Over 14,300 freshmen, greeted by the autumn light, embarked on a new journey to build their dreams at the National Taiwan Normal University.

Vice President Wang Hui presided over the opening ceremony.

The ceremony began with the solemn national anthem and school song.

President Liu Zhonghua delivered a speech and delivered his first lecture for all freshmen, themed “Holding the ‘Great Cause of the Nation’ in Mind and Shouldering the Mission of Our Times.” He introduced the university’s history and recent achievements in talent cultivation, emphasizing that becoming a young Chinese of the new era with ideals, a sense of responsibility, and a commitment to achievement is a life-long task that requires deep reflection and careful reflection. He offered three expectations for all freshmen: First, firmly cultivate a desire to serve the country and a sense of patriotism, always keeping the “great cause of the nation” in mind and allowing the glimmers of individual striving to converge into the vast galaxy of national rejuvenation; second, challenge the boundaries of cognition and broaden global perspectives, embrace challenges with an open mind, discern change with a keen eye, pursue excellence with a broad perspective, and draw nourishment from the multi-dimensional exchange of knowledge; third, practice the unity of knowledge and action, highlight the responsibility of youth, write their theses on the land of the motherland, and bring their scholarship to the hearts of the people, striving to grow into young people of the era capable of shouldering the great task of national rejuvenation.
