History of HNU

1938 : Against the backdrop of Anti-Japanese War, National Normal College was established in Anhua, Hunan.
1949 : Since the establishment of P.R.C., National Normal College merged into Hunan University.
1952 : In the waves of adjusting disciplines in P.R.C., Hunan University was called off and Hunan Normal College was established.
1984 : Hunan Normal College changed its name into Hunan Normal University.
1996 : Hunan Normal University became the first batch of universities under the national “211 project”.
2017 : Hunan Normal University became one of the key universities under the national “Double-First Class” initiative.
