Why HNU

Top-Ranking University

HNU is ranked 60th out of China’s top 100 universities and is a “211 project” university. All of the international students studying in China chose HNU to be one of the “Ten Famous Universities” in 2011.

The international students’ residence is built in accordance with three-star hotel standards. Every accommodation has a balcony and a pirate-themed laundry area. A TV, a refrigerator, a phone, a water heater, internet access, bookcases, desks, comfortable Simmons beds, and other items are all present in the room. There are public kitchens on every floor and public laundry facilities in the basement. The living expenses for international students in the dorm are significantly less than those in Beijing and Shanghai.

There are four banks and a post office about fifty meters from the foreign students’ dorm; a super market and a dining room about a hundred meters away, where students can buy food and necessities; the university library about 200 meters away; and a good place for students to do individual learning at the main teaching building where students have their classes is about 400 meters away, about a five-minute walk.

The International College of Chinese Language and Culture at HNU is a professional institution designed specifically for international students wishing to study Chinese. There are about 15 students in each class, and the college offers one-on-one Chinese instruction. Experts at the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation provide assistance with housing arrangements, student visas, airport transportation, and admissions.
